MIG Welder, Ferndown, up to £15ph

Purpose

Do you enjoy welding in your spare time? Have you previously worked within an engineering/manufacturing business where you’ve felt under-appreciated? As a welder, you will be an integral part of our clients production team who are responsible for maintaining large machinery and equipment. This hands-on role will involve using MIG welding techniques, reading technical drawings, conducting fitting and assembly tasks, and ensuring the product is to the required standard.

Responsibilities

As a welder, your responsibilities will include:

  • MIG welding on large, heavy duty projects
  • Operating fabrication machinery
  • Supporting several projects at any given time, each of which is likely to vary in scale and urgency
  • Stripping, fitting and assembling a variety of projects which vary in size
  • Basic inspection of completed parts
  • Adhering to health and safety requirements at all times
  • General housekeeping duties

Background

As a welder, you will have:

  • Previous welding (MIG) or fabricator experience from either a professional or hobbyist environment
  • Understanding of technical drawings and be able to interpret safety instructions, specifications, and manuals
  • High attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as a team
  • Residence within sensible distance to our customers’ site as relocations won’t be considered
  • Consistent work history and employers we can obtain references from
