Experience/Education/Technical ability Over 85% of hiring decisions are based almost exclusively on these criteria as this is very much the easiest area to assess, score and match against tangible business/task needs.
However, as new recruits tend not to leave organisations owing to failings in these areas - we have adopted an approach that does not rely solely here for candidate selection.
We obtain understanding of the Key Performance Objectives for each position alongside the criteria that will constitute success within each role. Candidates' experience, skills, formal qualifications, certificates etc are all then assessed to determine whether these specific objectives can be achieved.
Culture Fit The third cornerstone of our recruiting process hinges around a very easy to capture psychometric profiling tool (based on the ColourWorks/Insights model).
The dynamics of a successful team are often severely disrupted by the introduction of a new team member who is not complementary to the existing culture. This single area accounts for the majority of employees deciding to leave an organisation and is very important in any selection process.
The tool we use matches candidates' profiles against up to three Job profiles that we capture from our customers for each job.
